Growing vegetables has always been a passion of ours and we eat all our own produce.
We have developed vegetables plots on the land and have put in polytunnels to lengthen the growing season and to allow us to grow crops which require more heat such as tomatoes, cucumbers, chillies and melons to mention a few.

We believe in supporting our local community and want to share our produce locally so that it is fresh, seasonal and sustainable (I know its a buzz word but it needs to be sustainable for us or its not worth doing!)
Home produced vegetables and fruit have much more taste, colour and nutrition that mass produced veg you may buy from the supermarket as it is fresh out of the ground and hasn't sat in storage or flown around the world before it gets to you.

We are committed to sustainable practices that promote soil health, biodiversity, and environmental conservation. We are not certified as "Organic" due to the costs of certification but feel confident and proud that we are producing healthy, clean, nutritious, chemical and pesticide free fruit and vegetables

We are developing a new veg garden to increase our fruit and vegetable output.... Doris the Fordson Dexter Tractor is earning her keep and helping out with the heavy work spreading our own well rotted chicken manure

We are excited for the plans we have for 2025/26. Denise has held courses and workshops over the last few years for the Small Farm Training Group and East Sussex Smallholders and we have decided to branch out by hosting and delivering our own workshops at Hope Springs.
There will be a large variety of subjects which will appeal to different audiences but they will centre around the smallholding life but you don't need a smallholding or own land to learn new skills!
If there is a workshop you would like us to add to the list please do contact us.
Please see our brief introduction to the courses available.
More details will be coming shortly.
